I have this lovely friend who absolutely adores cats - so much so she turned part of her house into a cat sanctuary. She allowed cats that looked unusual to mate. At present, she has about twelve cats dwelling in her place. Like a little house small enough for cats to stay in, she made it with the ramps, windows, and covered porches. There are also runways for cats and rooms using little shelves. If cats have beauty products, she had those as well. They have little sleeping tunnels and beds. It was like a cat revolution, the film she sent me with. It started with only two cats, the one causing the trouble over the one who was supposedly resting or sleeping.
Miacas, a kind of specie that existed only 50 million years ago was supposed to be the source of the animals that we have now, particularly raccoons, dogs, bears and cats. These animals are similar to a weasel that has five claws that can be pulled back in.
Egyptians cherished their wildcats. They even train them as pets during 3500 B.C. Commended for their skills in hunting, the Egyptians celebrated their existence through works of art. They also think that the eyes of the cat contained the sunlight. Around 1500 B.C., cats were believed to be a divine being. Death was the punishment for those who killed cats. If an owner lost his/her pet cat that he/she adored so much, they trimmed their eyebrows as a sign of unhappiness, and the cat was then made into a mummy.
Cats were transported by Phoenician and Greek traders to Europe and Asia by 1000 B.C. Their ability to search, pursue and eliminate rodents were still highly regarded of them.
London, England held its first cat show in 1871, and established the first cat association in 1887. What later followed for people everywhere that adore cats very much is written in history.
Once, when my mother was ill, I had to run errands. A friend of hers said she would stay with her while I was gone. Mom and Lucy at that time were both over their senior years. Mother and Lucy were already sleeping when I came back from my errands. Both were on the couches in the living room. Lucy was in deep sleep that she wasn't awoken by mom's cat settling on her chest. The cat was staring at her mouth and nose, even observing her snores. Maybe she was marveling at Lucy and was attracted to her. Each time Lucy inhaled and exhaled, so did her chest rose and dropped, and the cat along with it. I woke my mother up so she could share in this hilarious and precious moment. As soon as Lucy woke up herself, she gazed at the cat's curious eyes. At first, she thought she was dreaming, but it became clear to her that she was in reality when she overheard me and mom giggling. On occasions, they recalled that most memorable experience and even into her old age.
It has been a pleasure having our cat friends around giving us adoration and serene times. They have also been a source of laughter and enjoyment because of their curious tricks. Loving and caring them back aren't enough to make a happy feline that's why there are other items in the market that can make them feel relaxed and contented. Mwow!
