What Do You Understand About Pet Cats

A lot of cats live in my girl friend's house. It has become a safe haven for them. My friend had no problem with it since she is so into them. She allowed cats that looked unusual to mate. At present, she has about twelve cats dwelling in her place. She really made the room fit for cats to live in, with ramps and enclosed porches, runs, and little shelves for them to sleep in. She even have grooming products for her cats. They even have their own small sleeping quarters that cats access through tunnels. At times, my friend would send me a copy of her cat films, one in particular showing a little one sleeping along the tunnels, while another runs through the tunnel landing on the sleeping cat. It creates a big mess!

They say that cats originally came from an extinct species, Miacas that goes 50 millenniums way back and so are the raccoons, dogs and bears. They had five claws that retract just like the weasel.

Wildcats were valued and treated as pets by the Egyptians about 3500 B.C. Commended for their skills in hunting, the Egyptians celebrated their existence through works of art. They also think that the eyes of the cat contained the sunlight. Around 1500 B.C., cats were believed to be a divine being. Death was the punishment for those who killed cats. If a dearly loved cat died, its pet owner expressed their sorrow by having their eyebrows shaved and the cat mummified.

Europe and Asia had cats only during the 1000 B.C. when the Phoenician and Greek merchants carried it to the place. They were still admired for their hunting skill and ability to limit the growth of the rodent population.

It was in Europe where the original cat show was held, during 1871 in London, England. By 1887, the first cat association was instituted. And for those who so much love cats, the rest is in the past.

At one time, my mother was sick, I had to do my errands. My mother's friend offered herself to accompany her while I was away. My mother and Lucy were already seniors, they were into their late sixties at that point in time. I found them both asleep on each couch in the living room by the time I arrived home. Lucy was in deep sleep that she wasn't awoken by mom's cat settling on her chest. The cat was staring at her mouth and nose, even observing her snores. The cat seemed to be curious about my mom's friend and found her interesting. The cat also went up and down as Lucy's chest went up and down when she breathed. I roused my mom from her slumber so that she could witness how amusing and priceless it was. When Lucy's eyes popped open, she was staring straight into the eyes of an inquisitive feline face. Arising from a deep slumber, she thought she was hallucinating until she noticed that mom and I were laughing our hearts out. That nap always reminded them of the most heartwarming experience they had and they continued to talk about it even when they became older.

The cats have became a part of our family and having them has been gratifying, with lots of tenderness and calm moments. We are entertained and amused by their prying actions. Besides loving them back, and providing the best of care and food for their well being, we can provide things that will keep them from getting bored, comfy places to sleep and play. Mwow!
