Facts Regarding Pet Cats

A lot of cats live in my girl friend's house. It has become a safe haven for them. My friend had no problem with it since she is so into them. She allowed cats that looked unusual to mate. At present, she has about twelve cats dwelling in her place. She really made the room fit for cats to live in, with ramps and enclosed porches, runs, and little shelves for them to sleep in. She even have grooming products for her cats. Their sleeping tunnels and beds are tiny. She even films them and sends me a copy. One time, she caught on video her cats, the one sleeping being pounced by another who was such a nuisance making a huge disturbance in the room!

Cats, same as raccoons, dogs and bears, were considered to have came from a specie that aged 50 million years before but no longer continues to exist, called the Miacas. These were weasel like animals with five retractable claws.

During the time of 3500 B.C., the Egyptian people also had pets of their own and these were tamed wildcats. Egyptians commemorated their hunting abilities by molding art works of them. They also felt that the cat's eyes possess the sunlight. Cats were regarded as something very holy, so anyone who was guilty of killing a cat, was sentenced to die as well. This was observed during the 1500 B.C. When a person's much-loved pet cat passed away, the body was preserved and the pet owner had their eyebrows cut off to signify their mourning.

Cats were transported by Phoenician and Greek traders to Europe and Asia by 1000 B.C. They were still admired for their hunting skill and ability to limit the growth of the rodent population.

It was in Europe where the original cat show was held, during 1871 in London, England. By 1887, the first cat association was instituted. For cat lovers all over the place, it's all marked in history.

On one occasion, I had to do a job as my mother was left in the house with some ailment. My mom had a friend who said she could keep my mother company so that I could go where I needed to go. Mother and Lucy were in their late 60's at the time. By the time I was back from my walk, I saw them on each couch lying sound asleep. My mom's friend was sleeping so soundly, she snored. My mom's cat was resting on her chest gazing at her mouth and nose. The cat seemed to be curious about my mom's friend and found her interesting. Each time Lucy inhaled and exhaled, so did her chest rose and dropped, and the cat along with it. I roused my mom from her slumber so that she could witness how amusing and priceless it was. As soon as Lucy woke up herself, she gazed at the cat's curious eyes. Waking out of a sound sleep, she thought she was dreaming until she heard the laughter - and she always remembered that nap time as the fondest of memories of my mother and talked about into her old age.

Our feline friends have given us hours of affection and quiet moments with a feeling of satisfaction. Their inquisitive behavior has given us many reasons to laugh and amuse ourselves. Aside from all the loving they have received in return and all the care and nutrition for their health, we could still supply them with things to amuse themselves as well as a comfortable quarter to sleep and play in. Mwow!
