Do You Have Pet Cats?

A friend of mine is a cat lover. She loves them so much that she made her home a refuge for cats. She allowed cats that looked unusual to mate. At present, she has about twelve cats dwelling in her place. She did some remodeling fit for cats to stay in, with ramps, windows, porches, cat runs and little shelves. She also bought cat products everything that you can think of. They have little sleeping tunnels and beds. At times, my friend would send me a copy of her cat films, one in particular showing a little one sleeping along the tunnels, while another runs through the tunnel landing on the sleeping cat. It creates a big mess!

They say that cats originally came from an extinct species, Miacas that goes 50 millenniums way back and so are the raccoons, dogs and bears. These were weasel like animals with five retractable claws.

Wildcats were valued and treated as pets by the Egyptians about 3500 B.C. Commended for their skills in hunting, the Egyptians celebrated their existence through works of art. They also think that the eyes of the cat contained the sunlight. Around 1500 B.C., cats were believed to be a divine being. Death was the punishment for those who killed cats. When a beloved cat pet died, the owners shaved their eyebrows as a symbol of grief - and they mummified the cat.

Europe and Asia had cats only during the 1000 B.C. when the Phoenician and Greek merchants carried it to the place. They continued to be revered for their hunting ability and skill in controlling the rodent population.

London, England held its first cat show in 1871, and established the first cat association in 1887. And for those who so much love cats, the rest is in the past.

Once, when my mother was ill, I had to run errands. My mother's friend offered herself to accompany her while I was away. Mother and Lucy were in their late 60's at the time. Mother and Lucy were already sleeping when I came back from my errands. Both were on the couches in the living room. Lucy was so sound asleep, she was snoring and mother's cat was sitting on her chest with her eyes fixed on her nose and mouth. The cat seemed to be curious about my mom's friend and found her interesting. The cat also went up and down as Lucy's chest went up and down when she breathed. It was such a funny and memorable moment that I had to wake my mother up so she could see it. When Lucy's eyes popped open, she was staring straight into the eyes of an inquisitive feline face. Arising from a deep slumber, she thought she was hallucinating until she noticed that mom and I were laughing our hearts out. That nap always reminded them of the most heartwarming experience they had and they continued to talk about it even when they became older.

Our cat friends provide with hours of love and peaceful moments filled with purring contentment. We are entertained and amused by their prying actions. The cats also get the best love and health care that they deserve. Moreover, you can even include items that will keep them entertained and sleep and play areas that are relaxing for them to settle in. Purrfection!
